Am i Uneducated?

' Your kids will be left out, they won't get any education, they will miss out on several opportunities, they will have no confidence, "This is the worst decision ever".

This is what my parents heard after making the decision that their children will learn and educate from home, widely known as 'Home Schooling'. This was totally different and new to everyone who heard this and various questions were raised as well as many other controversies.
I am the eldest child of my family, certainly this was something new and exciting for me. My parents told me that i will memorize the Quran and continue my studies well, but won't go to school from now. I thought this journey would be a piece of cake, what i did not knew that life isn't as perfect as it seems.
I started my memorization in September 2013, 9 years old, a playful, carefree child i was, did not cared about what was going to happen next. The thought never existed.
As soon as i started to ponder over what was happening and why were we treated differently, i realised it was because we weren't attending school, yes i know this sounds silly but trust me this is the truth.
Being treated as if we were illiterate children who can't speak english, don't know what science means, won't be able to think extensively, don't know what common sense is. It was horrendous. People judged us based on the fact that we were not attending any educational institutes.
Their limited mindsets did not allow them to understand that a child being cultivated at home can not only learn specific subjects but also educate in mannerism, speech, various proposals, family bond, religious discipline etc.
Homeschooling isn't a prison where we're not allowed to live freely or experience what the rest of the world is enjoying. Homeschooling means a friendly environment where you learn as you play, no strict timings, make blunders and get lectured by your homies not outsiders, no pressure to get the highest grade in class, and the most beneficial factor is that you get to have a special bond with your parents.
Growing up, i learnt that speaking english is known to be a standard of being modern or liberal in our society. Say if i don't speak english, i'm illiterate. I still remember when i spoke in english to my cousin who lived in a foreign country she was surprised and asked me 'How can you speak english when you don't go to school?'. Simply i understood that these people don't realise that whatever we learn in school or institutes, we can learn it at home too. Speaking about confidence, Is it hard to have confidence when you don't interact with other people besides your family. My parents organised a sunday school 2 years ago and asked me to conduct the lectures. Communicating with others, charging a group of people and helping them to attain knowledge boosted my self-confidence to its limits.
Just because homeschooling isn't a trend in our country yet, people still think its impossible to educate yourself while being at home.
Other than studies, i got to learn ton of new skills by being at home with my parents and siblings which i might have missed out on if i was attending school.
For a long period of time,i believed that me being homeschooled wasn't the best idea at all. But after opening my eyes to the reality, taking aspects and life changing turns positively, i bound to believe that this is certainly the best decision my parents made of our lives.

Homeschooling definitely isn't a bad idea. If you have the guts to control, encourage, believe in yourself that you can do this on your own, you will surely succeed.

Simply, i'll put it this way; Anybody who is 'Homeschooled' isn't 'Uneducated'.

What i learnt through all these years of being homeschooled is, Just because you are a homeschooled child doesn't means you're a failure or a loser.
Don't lose hope.Sometimes it takes time to reach a certain level,
'Because every flower doesn't blooms the same day'.

  7. This is simply brilliant, the way you explained the concept of home schooling of which majority people have a totally opposite concept. The thing is that if you are competent in religiously and practically then it does not matter whether you are home schooled or went to a proper school. Thjs is very competitive and well done. Keep it up. Regards samreen
